The World For All Adoption Drive - An Enriching Experience

World For All's Adoption Drive At Deonar
I should have done this post way back in the week; but its better late than never. A few days back, I’d posted a blog post on the Adoption Drive at Deonar.

On Sunday morning, I called Salome at 6:30 AM; and believe it or not, we both were ready and out of our houses in an hour’s time. On reaching the venue, we were greeted by Rama and Tuxedo. Tux is this pretty lil black and white kitten, tiny but playful. She had quite a ball climbing my shoulders and walking down my hands.

Pepper (l) and Hazel (r)
Just as I familiarized myself with Tux, Hazel and Pepper walked in. The sisters had 2 other siblings who had gotten adopted just the previous day. It was this exact reason that had caused Hazel to seem a little distraught. Her foster parents explained to me how she’d been low ever since the other 2 pups had left. Perhaps she’d been missing them.
Some of Anand's 20 pups
As the day progressed, so did the fun. We were then introduced to the 20 pups that Anand had been fostering. Just the thought of having 20 pups (first photo) running up and about in your house was enough to send my head spinning. Hats off to Anand and his family for having taken great care of these little babies!
Lazy Cat Lazy Cat, What Are They Feeding You?
With the volunteers just pouring in; and little pups and kittens roaming the grounds, the day was set to eventful.

The crowds started pouring in. People seemed to have all sorts of questions – ‘Can we feed them vegetarian food?’, ‘Is this pup friendly?’, ‘What is the right age to get them spayed?’

The balancing act between running behind the pups, answering people’s queries and filling up the paperwork for those who were turning adoptive parents was quite the challenge; but it was so much fun.
I called her 'Caramel'
I am definitely looking forward to volunteering with WFA again. I walked out of the grounds of the Amarnath Patil Udyan at Deonar with a newfound love for animals and a lot of new friends.
